Thank you for your interest in our Great Boston Scavengah Hunt fund-raising event to benefit The Second Step. On May 7, 2011, Friends Against Violence is hosting its 2nd Annual Great Boston Scavengah Hunt. All proceeds will benefit The Second Step in Newton, Ma. The Second Step is a comprehensive program for survivors of domestic violence. Founded in 1992, The Second Step offers transitional housing, advocacy, safety planning, mentoring, children’s programs, legal case management, and an array of supportive services for families transitioning away from abuse. The Scavengah Hunt will test your knowledge of the City and its landmarks, your team's ability to think quickly under pressure, and strategic decision-making. There will be pics to be taken, objects to be found, riddles to be solved, and deadlines to be met. And be wary of the Bonus Clues...they could make or break your team. The event starts at The Place at 12:00 PM to get teams organized, introduced, and to review the rules. The Scavenger Hunt ends back at The Place at 4:30 P.M. SHARP. We will then tally up the scores, announce the winners, and give out some great prizes. Here's what you will need: - A team of 2 to 5 players - A fully charged camera or phone that takes digital pictures, with a USB port connector cable (you MUST bring the cable!!) - A backpack - $20 per person donation Team “uniforms” are encouraged (e.g., all wearing Red Sox shirts, dressed in Cobra Kai uniforms, 80s headbands, etc.). TEAMS MUST SIGN UP BY THE DAY OF THE EVENT -- you can add team members after that date, but you must register your team of at least two players by then. REGISTERING YOUR TEAM IS RECOMMENDED. FAV is a non-profit that gives back to victims of violence and abuse. We raise money through various fundraisers and donate our proceeds to organizations that help individuals affected by violence and abuse This is FAV's 2nd event of the year and we're looking for your support in making our mission a success! Please fill out ALL information below. Once you enter have to cancel and withdraw your team from the tournament, then please notify us within 48 hours of tournament day. After you register please read the tournament format and rules. |
